OpenAI Unveils GPT Store and Enhanced GPT-4 at Inaugural DevDay Conference

OpenAI's first developer conference, DevDay, brought a series of significant announcements to the forefront of the AI industry. The upcoming launch of a GPT store was revealed, poised to function akin to Apple's App Store, where custom GPT bots can be shared and sold. In an effort to safeguard its users, OpenAI introduced the "Copyright Shield," a defensive measure against copyright infringement litigation for ChatGPT Enterprise and API users.

Further developments include the enhancement of GPT-4, which has been turbocharged to provide a more powerful and cost-efficient experience for developers. The new iteration of ChatGPT boasts web browsing capabilities, alongside the ability to write and run code, analyze data, and more, with an intelligent model selection system in place.

To stimulate the adoption of these new tools, OpenAI distributed credits to developers present at the conference. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was in attendance, endorsing the collaborative efforts towards building advanced general intelligence (AGI).

While the payment structure for creators in the GPT store is under construction, initial strategies involve sharing a portion of ChatGPT subscription revenues, with tiers based on user engagement and additional category bonuses. OpenAI also committed to enhancing the speed and accessibility of their services, looking ahead to more innovations in the field.
